"A friendly touch of Texas" is how Royse City sees itself, and why not? It offers genuine hometown charm and a genuine small town feel. Located in a peaceful, rural setting 30 miles east of Dallas along Interstate 30, Royse City is just far enough away from big city stress but close enough for big city fun. Its proximity to many area lakes makes it a very attractive community. Lakes Lavon, Tawakoni and Ray Hubbard are just minutes away.
The word is out on Royse City. Let the housing boom begin. No less than 14 subdivisions have been added in the last few years. With names like Quail Ridge and Starlight Farms, these new subdivisions offer modern design touches and luxurious amenities. Hidden Creek Estates promises to be a city within a city. It will include a commercial district and a multi-family complex with swimming pool, 6 tennis courts, 4 soccer fields, 2 baseball fields and a walking path.
School-aged children are served by the Royce City Independent School District, which is currently experiencing its own building boom. New facilities are underway to house all the new students. Higher learning is right around the corner, as well. Texas A∓M at Commerce, Rockwall County and Collin County Community Colleges are in close proximity.
All in all, Garret Royse would be proud of the little community he founded around 1886. Royse City has managed to retain its "friendly touch of Texas."
