Telephone also runs along that roadway. Sutherland Creek joins Neeper Valley Road farther down, so no flood worries on this spot. From the manned gate, it is only1.5 miles up the pavement to the Neeper Valley turnoff (Ripley’s Believe It or Not listed that first mile as the ‘crookedest one mile in America’). Once you reach the Neeper Valley turnoff on your left, you drive only one half mile on gravel to the reach the lot on your left. The only fairly steep place on Neeper Valley is at the turnoff itself. Total drive time to the security gate is about six minutes. Total drive time from the lot to Colorado Springs city center is only 20 minutes.
