Made up of a number of communities, including Montevideo, Champion Forest, Wyman's Grove, Provinces, and Aladdin Village, Jessup offers a diverse and eclectic variety of home choices, from historic farmhouses and large estate style single families, to cottages, town houses, condos, and mobile homes. Originally known as Jessup's Cut, the town of Jessup was developed as part of the B&O Railroad line. Trains traveled though Jessup from Baltimore to Washington, DC, which, although in less volume, they continue to do in present day.
Jessup shares its schools with nearby Fort Meade and is part of the Howard County Public School System. Jessup's schools include Jessup Elementary, Meade Junior High, and Meade Senior High, and students benefit from their education in Maryland's top-performing district.
Jessup has a very active community organization, the Jessup Improvement Association, which holds many family friendly events, including the annual Easter Egg Hunt, Halloween, and Christmas Parties. Jessup Day Celebration with food, drinks, games, and even a classic car show, is another highlight of the year in this close knit town. Buyers will be happy to discover an array of homes at nearly every price point.
