Best summer activities in the Triangle
The temperatures are warm, the days are long and the kids are out of school - summer has finally arrived. Now that this wonderful season has finally descended upon the Triangle, it's time to enjoy some of the best activities of the entire year. Residents who have recently moved into one of the homes for sale in Raleigh-Durham should partake in some of local summer favorites as soon as possible.
Summer is a great time of year to spend time with the kids. Consider taking the family to the Blue Ridge Mountains to do some hiking at a family-friendly park such as Stone Mountain State Park. It's located at 3042 Frank Parkway in Roaring Gap, about 168 miles from Raleigh, making it a nice day or weekend trip.
For activities a little closer to home, consider going to a free or inexpensive outdoor concert in town. Locally Grown is a concert and movie series every Thursday evening at 150 East Rosemary Street in downtown Chapel Hill. Dancing along to live tunes or enjoying dinner and a movie are perfect ways to spend a warm summer evening with family and friends.
