Baseball fans may want to buy in this upcoming subdivision being built by the Giants baseball team

It's just about that time a year again when San Francisco residents everywhere will be calling up their friends and family to head over to AT&T Park and watch the the Giants. If you're a Major League Baseball fan and are looking to buy one of the homes for sale in Bay Area, consider purchasing a house near the stadium.

It would be nice to have the option of simply walking to the game every year when baseball season comes around. In fact, San Francisco Giants representatives have recently met with city leaders to discuss plans to build a neighborhood right next to the park, according to Bloomberg.

The development is called Mission Rock and will include 27 acres of homes, shops, parks, restaurants and offices. In this perimeter, there are approximately 1,000 residential properties planning to be built. The San Francisco Chronicle says the San Francisco Giants baseball team is planning to spend $1.6 billion on the project.

"We've looked for ways to see that this neighborhood not just preserves its charm and its character but can add to the economic viability and the economic potency of this city," said team President and CEO Larry Baer at a recent conference.
