How long was your process from search to close?
After I changed real estate agents, the process was only a little over a month! I was ready to buy, and my agent helped me get it done. He knew the listing agent personally, which helped get my offer accepted. The Austin market was really competitive - homes would sell in just a few days!
Were you able to negotiate at all on the price?
No, the price was fixed because home wasn’t even listed for sale yet. But my agent did get the seller to convey the appliances!
What is one home or garden project you’re looking forward to?
Well, I’ve already built a storage shed. I’m also looking forward to doing some more decorating, putting up art, working on the guest bathroom, and enclosing the shower in glass.
What is your favorite feature on the ZipRealty website or mobile app?
I loved the mobile app! I especially liked that my saved homes were completely synced up with my account, so my agent already knew which homes I was interested in and had them mapped out to go see. I also appreciated how specific the search criteria could be on the app.
Any tips for other buyers?
Make sure you have a professional agent. The first agent I worked with was unprofessional and wasted a lot of my time. I really liked the agent I ended up with because he was on time, always prepared, super organized, and communicated everything clearly to me. I chose him because of his good reviews on the website, and also because I knew people who had actually worked with him.
