As a North Carolina Outer Banks native, Phyllis grew up in a small island town of Manteo. Phyllis has a BS and MS in Home Economics and Educational Administration from ECU and additional postgraduate work at NCSU. The trip to finally discovering that Real Estate is where Phyllis wanted to be, started with a 20 year Service as a public educator, ranging from being a Vocational Teacher to a Career Development Coordinator and Vocational Director. The evolution of coming into sales was something Phyllis resisted until she realized that Sales is Service. First working as a headhunter and temporary placement manager, then selling furniture for a well known area contemporary and Scandinavian store, it was during that time that Phyllis discovered she wanted to combine all the knowledge, experiences and passions of the past which ultimately lead to a career in Real Estate! Now in her 17th year of Real Estate, the first 13 years were spent selling new construction for all types of homes from 1st time homes to high-end luxury homes.
