We are California transplants who had been dreaming of living in the beautiful Pacific Northwest for nearly the last 20 years of John's career as a Police Officer for the city of Sacramento. When the fervently awaited retirement day arrived, we were already packing and planning our escape to Paradise.


We left behind families and I made the leap from an 16 year career in a super fast paced Real Estate market in Elk Grove, where we lived, to the unknown.


We decided to take a true mini retirement and played for almost 2 years. We bought a 42 ft. yacht and cruised the San Juans, created a garden and sold produce at the farmers market, joined two car clubs and entered our '54 Chevy pick-up in car shows, hiked, kayaked, entertained visitors, raised ducks, walked on the beach in the snow, sold the 42 ft. yacht just in the nick of time, played loads of Scrabble, and decided that retirement was very expensive and it was time to get back to work.

We especially enjoy working with our military service people on the north end of the Island and have made some lifelong bonds assisting families that have made that commitment to our country.
