I enjoy helping people realize their dream of home ownership. Late last year I made that dream come true for a young couple relocating from the southwest. They wanted Newton but couldn't afford the $595,000 price tag the owners had initially placed on their property. Using my years of experience, I was able to help negotiate the price down to under $500,000.


I've been involved in real estate for most of my adult career, and have experienced the real estate cycles in MA beginning in the late sixties. First as a banker and lender, I underwrote and negotiated financial contracts into the multi-million dollar range, to businesses and individuals in MA. In the 1990s, I worked for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, where I managed portfolios of distressed assets, most of them involving real estate of various types: residential, commercial, investment, land, time shares, cooperatives, and condos, amongst others. I was charged with settling, compromising, and liquidating these assets. My greatest enjoyment was not in the 'big ticket' deals but rather in helping individuals and families retain ownership of homes and condominiums they had bought in good faith from the now failed banks, and who were now faced with the prospect of losing them.
