I enjoy helping people realize their dream of home ownership. Late last year I made that dream come true for a young couple relocating from the southwest. They wanted Newton but couldn't afford the $595,000 price tag the owners had initially placed on their property. Using my years of experience, I was able to help negotiate the price down to under $500,000.

I've been involved in real estate for most of my adult career, and have experienced the real estate cycles in MA beginning in the late sixties. First as a banker and lender, I underwrote and negotiated financial contracts into the multi-million dollar range, to businesses and individuals in MA. In the 1990s, I worked for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, where I managed portfolios of distressed assets, most of them involving real estate of various types: residential, commercial, investment, land, time shares, cooperatives, and condos, amongst others. I was charged with settling, compromising, and liquidating these assets. My greatest enjoyment was not in the 'big ticket' deals but rather in helping individuals and families retain ownership of homes and condominiums they had bought in good faith from the now failed banks, and who were now faced with the prospect of losing them.

My desire to work in residential real estate led me to Zip Realty. After extensive research on the competition, I decided upon Zip as the agency that best exhibited the professionalism that I sought. It married innovation with technology to deliver to the buyer and seller the best all around approach to satisfying the consumers' needs. In a collegial atmosphere where every agent helps the other, the client comes first. I especially like Zip's approach to advising first time home buyers in what is involved in the 'process' beforehand, so that the mystery and uncertainty is taken out of it, and so they know ahead of time what is expected. This approach strongly mirrors my own philosophy toward customer satisfaction. It is one I have practiced throughout my career. I would like to employ it for your benefit, so don't hesitate to call or e-mail and let me help take the uncertainty out of your buying or selling.

Fred was forth right and honest, he made sure that what I was looking for was worth the price and he was committed to ensuring that I was happy with my decision. Fred also took the time to explain the changes of home buying from the first time that I had purchased my first home 20 years ago. Fred made sure that he covered all the "what if's" and made sure that I understood them. I would recommend Fred to any of my friends of family on their home purchases.

We are a family from abroad and therefore our house hunting exercise was not easy. When we came in spring for a couple weeks Fred dedicated all his time to us, because it was clear that we need to make a decision. After looking at more than 30 houses we indeed submitted an offer and purchased a house. Around closing Fred really excelled our expectation. As we could not attend closing and still need to wait a couple weeks until our final move, Fred stepped in and he took care about a lot of organizational things. Great service, I assume way beyond the usual scope of a realtors. Many thanks!

Fred, Word's alone can not explain how thankful we are for having you as our realtor over the past 2 years or so. It feels like we started this journey ages ago; Mia was only 2 years old, Mae wasn't even a thought yet and Rae was only a few weeks old when we met and now she is almost 3 years old (you might as well be her God Father). :-) My wife and I are so amazed at how patient you were with us. I can't even recall how many homes we had you take us to, from Princeton to Northborough, from Auburn to Bolton and you never gave up on us, you never gave up on our family. We were truly blessed to have found you and now to have found our dream home after years of searching. I can only imagine that in your line of work it is important to not get attached to your clients, which we completely understand, but please know that we are truly greatful and that you are always welcomed in our home. Sincerely, The L Family. P.S. We expect you at our house warming party (no excuses) so that we can introduce you to our friends, family and co-workers.
