Norton, a suburban community in Bristol County, is blessed with close proximity to major highway arteries, making this an ideal home base for commuters. The town is two miles from Interstates 95 and 495 that form the inner and outer rings of the Boston Metropolitan area. Norton is just 30 miles southwest of Boston and 35 miles southeast of Worcester, the two cultural and economic hubs of Massachusetts.

Additionally, Norton residents can take advantage of direct commuter rail service to Downtown Boston from stations in neighboring Attleboro and Mansfield. This easy access to employment and to other commuters has aided Norton in its significant growth. Over the past 25 years, Norton has seen a sixty-percent increase in population. This is also due in part to the quality of life in this quiet historic town. Norton has undergone several name changes and has been part of other towns since it was first settled in the early 18th century. As early as 1710, it was part of Taunton. Then later in the century, it was a district of Mansfield.

Today, Norton is a well-established community of 14,000 residents living spread out over nearly 30 square miles of town. Like most other small New England communities, Norton is run by an open town meeting form of government with a charter and administered by a town manager. Among its many municipal assets and services, Norton has its own school district and town library. The Norton Public Library - L. G. and Mildred Balfour Memorial, began as the Norton Magazine Club, a private organization founded in 1879. The current library building, built in 1991, is an attractive and bright space that houses close to 60,000 volumes. Norton's five public schools serve over 3,000 students from preschool to high school. The quality of this school system is apparent in the fact that over 80 percent of its graduates go on to higher education. Some even attend Wheaton College which has its campus in Norton.

In July 2007, the average home sales price for a single family home or condo in Norton, MA was $368,906. While this data is collected from the MLS and deemed reliable, it is not guaranteed.
