The tiny enclave of Edgecliff Village is tucked into south central Tarrant County, convenient to Interstate 35W and Interstate 20 (also Loop 820). The community sits on Farm Road 731 and is home to roughly 2,500 residents.

The establishment nearby of Carswell Air Force Base in the 1940s and the manufacturing plants of defense contractor General Dynamics in the 1950s boosted the community's development. The area experienced a bit of a population boom in the 1980s and 90s, although that growth will level out soon as the last 206 acres of open prairie are developed for new construction of single-family homes.

Edgecliff Village residents are minutes from the great shopping, restaurants, and museums of Fort Worth, the fifth-largest city in Texas. It's also a short drive to the entertainment capitol of Arlington, home to the Texas Rangers baseball team, Six Flags Over Texas, and Hurricane Harbor, as well as numerous other attractions and amenities.

Outdoor lovers enjoy the quick drive to the great fishing, camping, hiking, and boating at Benbrook Lake. Golfers love the nearby Mira Vista Golf Club, as well as the Pecan Valley Municipal Golf Course in nearby Benbrook.

The town also boasts one of the lowest tax rates in the area. According to the 2000 census, median household income was $58,304 and the median home value was $83,600. Edgecliff Village is served by the Edgecliff and Fort Worth Independent School Districts. For college students, there's the Tarrant County College South Campus.
