The City of Beverly on the North Shore of Massachusetts, approximately 18 miles north of Boston is a diverse community offering a variety of housing options. Beverly comprises several sections. Prides Crossing and Beverly Farms offer breathtaking views of the rocky ocean coast, lined with spectacular homes and estates. North Beverly is a quiet neighborhood of comfortable homes on oversized lots and Gloucester Crossing features modest single and multi-family houses in the downtown area. Above all, Beverly offers many settings and choices.

Founded in 1626, Beverly is one of the oldest communities in the country and still contains links to its past in buildings and monuments. Commercial activity centers on Cabot Street with many fine shops and restaurants. The Cabot Theater has preserved the ornate interior of old movie houses with its plush seats, gilded detail and painted murals. Another main street, busy with commerce, is Rantoul Street, also featuring a variety of businesses. Several colleges have campuses in Beverly including Montserrat College of Art, North Shore Community College and Endicott College.

Beverly is accessible to surrounding communities and to nearby Boston by both public transportation and car. Routes 128, 1A, 127 and 62 cross through Beverly and the commuter rail has three stops in Beverly. Most notable is the Beverly Depot downtown just off Rantoul Street. This stone construction station has been preserved with 19th century details and contains a well-respected restaurant. With the conveniences of a city, such as its own hospital, full-time police, fire and other municipal services and even a small airport, Beverly retains a suburban appeal. Tree-lined streets and well-cared for historic homes are found throughout the community.

Covering approximately 15 square miles, there are 38,000 residents. Home prices begin at $320,000 for a single family house and condominiums start in the low 100's. Because of the variety that exists in Beverly, prices rise from neighborhood to neighborhood depending on the desirability of location. The architecture is diverse as well. Beverly features newly constructed homes that are in keeping with the cape, Victorian, federal and colonial styles of older and historic homes. Beverly is a coastal community with several public and private beaches and waterfront parks. Its neighboring communities are Salem, Danvers, Hamilton, Wenham and Manchester-by-the-Sea.

In August 2008, the average home sales price for a single family home or condo in Beverly, MA was $439,009. While this data is collected from the MLS and deemed reliable, it is not guaranteed.
