Cohasset is a quiet ocean-front residential town 20 miles southeast of Boston. The name, of the town, originally Conohasset, means "long rocky place". Long ago, the area was chronicled by Captain John Smith who mentions this rocky coast in a book about his voyage to New England in 1614.
Covering nine square miles, Cohasset is marked by colonial homes and spectacular ocean views. Cohassets central village lies around a wide common with a small pond, and features specialty shops, the colonial First Parish Meeting House and St. Stephens Church.
