Holbrook is a bedroom community located on the South Shore, just 16 miles southeast of Boston. Easy access to Downtown Boston is provided by direct commuter rail line. The town is also well-served by roads; Routes 37 and 139 cross through town. From these roads, major highways 128 and 28 are accessible.
Originally part of Randolph and Braintree, Holbrook was formerly known as East Randolph, and incorporated as a separate town in 1872. It was renamed for Elisha N. Unfortunately, the town hall, library and meeting house were destroyed by fire several years later in 1877.
