Everett is a tightly knit community of families and bustling commercial activity just 3 miles north of Boston. This working class suburb of single and multi-family homes contains its own employment base of manufacturing, service and retail jobs. As a city, Everett provides its roughly 35,000 residents with a host of municipal services including a police department, fire department, public works and recreation. The Everett Recreation Center on Elm Street, for example, provides the youth of Everett with supervised athletic and after school activities.

A network of major roads and highways gives Everett easy access to the nearby city of Boston as well as to the communities north of the city. Routes 16 and 99 traverse the city and connect to Boston's main artery Route 93. Also a short distance away is Route 1 with its "seven wonders" of colorful structures and large scale business signs. This road, busy with commercial activity and shopping malls leads to popular beach destinations on the North Shore.

Everett's excellent location and transportation network have allowed this community, first settled in 1630 to thrive as a residential and industrial center. It was incorporated as town 1870 and as a city in 1892. Communities neighboring Everett include: Malden, Revere, Chelsea, Somerville and Medford. Though Everett doesn't possess a train line, there is amble bus service for transportation through the city and to other communities.

Everett's school district includes five elementary schools offering pre-kindergarten to grade eight instruction. There is also one public high school and several private and religious schools. Additionally there are two public library facilities in Everett, both on Broadway. Several major streets running through the city such as Main Street and Broadway, teem with commercial activity and are scattered with public buildings, monuments and houses of worship. This city that has attracted immigrants for much of its history offers a variety of ethnic restaurants and food stores that lend diversity to Everett. Tree-lined side streets of well-maintained homes demonstrate the pride residents have for their community.

In August 2008, the average home sales price for a single family home or condo in Everett, MA was $243,764. While this data is collected from the MLS and deemed reliable, it is not guaranteed.
