A town of 6,100 people that's located 45 miles west of Chicago, Yorkville offers pleasant country living, accessibility to major roads, different types of housing, and plenty of leisure-time activities. The Yorkville Parks and Recreation Department maintains Yorkville's parks, and offers a number of programs and sports-related activities including basketball, dance and exercise classes, golfing, soccer, tennis, tumbling, and street hockey. The Fox Valley Family YMCA on East Main Street also sponsors a variety of programs including swimming and gymnastics, and the Hoover Outdoor Education Center, owned by the Boy Scouts of America, maintains a 406-acre camp along the Fox River. There, scouts can spend time camping and swimming and participating in arts and crafts and nature studies. Housing in Yorkville comes in various sizes and architectural styles.
