Covering an area of only 2.8 square miles, the Cook County suburb has a population of 11,597 (2005), and is a mix of residential, industrial, commercial, and open space. Schiller Park is bordered by O'Hare International Airport to the west, the Chi Chi Pin Quoi Forest Preserves to the east, the village of Rosemont to the north, and the village of Franklin Park to the south. Schiller Park is easily accessible from the Tri-State Tollway (I-294) and the Kennedy Expressway (I-90/94). Drivers can travel to downtown Chicago in 25 minutes and Midway Airport in 45 minutes. The Metra commuter train leaves nearby Franklin Park and arrives in downtown Chicago in about 25 minute. In addition, Schiller Park now has its own Metra station on the North-Central service line between Antioch and downtown Chicago.
