The home of corporate giant United Airlines, the suburb of Elk Grove Village boasts one of the lowest property rates in the Chicago area, an excellent park and recreation system, a wide array of housing choices, and an excellent school system. Elk Grove Village has a population of over 34,000, and is located 20 miles northwest of downtown Chicago, primarily in Cook County, with a small portion in DuPage County. The Elk Grove Park District consists of roughly 473 acres, including 44 parks, three Olympic-sized swimming pools and 11 public tennis courts. In addition, the Jack A. Residents can also spend their leisure time at the Audubon Skate Park, Rainbow Falls Water Theme Park, Prates Cove Children's Theme Park, Fox Run Golf Course and Driving Range, and the Farmhouse Museum.

Summertime brings outdoor musical concerts on Sunday evenings to the Elk Grove Park District Pavilion. For shopping, residents can take advantage of the one hundred twenty-five shops that occupy eleven primary shopping centers, along with sixteen smaller strip centers. Some of the major shopping areas feature specialty shops, supermarkets, restaurants, drug and hardware stores, and other shops. Woodfield Mall, the world's largest enclosed retail shopping center in Schaumburg, is about a 15-mile drive from Elk Grove Village.

There is an assortment of housing in Elk Grove Village including single-family and multi-family homes in various styles, sizes and price ranges. Nearby Harper College offers two-year technical degrees and programs.
