Tyrone is located in Fayette County and is home to nearly 7,000 residents. The area is located 25 miles south of Atlanta and is convenient to Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. The town was incorporated in1911, and reportedly was named by the Scotch and Irish immigrants who worked on the railroad in the area who said the town reminded them of County Tyrone in Ireland.
