Peachtree City is located in Fayette County. If you've seen the film Sweet Home Alabama, you've seen the beautiful town of Peachtree City as it was the primary location used for the movie starring Academy Award winning actress Reese Witherspoon. And dining is always a treat in the area home to numerous award-winning restaurants. Peachtree City is known for its system of golf cart paths, which spider across the town and provide a secondary means of access to almost any destination within city limits. Many households own a golf cart, which is used as an extra vehicle for local transportation.
Students in Peachtree City will attend Fayette County Public Schools. Comprised of 27 schools, including one Evening High School and one Alternative School, the system has over 21,000 students enrolled. Fayette County schools have some of the highest SAT, CRCT, and ITBS scores in the state. Additionally, several schools in the district have been recognized a National Blue Ribbon School and as a Georgia School of Excellence.
