Braselton, named after a prominent area family, is uniquely located spanning the counties of Hall, Jackson, Gwinnett and Barrow. The town was bought from the Braselton family by a partnership between the Ameritech Pension fund and actress Kim Bassinger in 1989 for $20 million, though she eventually sold her portion. The area has since grown to become one of the hottest real estate markets in Georgia, and has grown tremendously in the past decade attracting nearly 3,000 residents.
