Rendon, home to roughly 9,000 residents, is located off Farm Road 1187. Settlement began in the area, originally known as Cross Roads, by the latter half of the nineteenth century. In 1891 a post office opened under the name of Rendon, after Joaquin Rendon, the original land grant holder in the region. This unincorporated town about 12 miles southeast of downtown Fort Worth in southern Tarrant County offers the best of country living and the convenience of nearby Burleson, Mansfield, the entertainment and sports amenities of Arlington, and the renowned museums, fine dining and abundant shopping of Fort Worth.

By the mid-1890s the town had flour mills, two gins, a blacksmith, and a population of twenty-five. By 1950 the population had increased to eighty, with three listed businesses. Rendon organized its own volunteer fire department in 1954, and the school was consolidated with the Mansfield Independent School District in 1967. The population remained consistent at 90 residents throughout the 1970s and 1980s.

Nearby I-35W offers residents quick access to the the shopping areas of Fort Worth and Dallas, Arlington's Six Flags Over Texas and Hurricane Harbor theme parks, as well as other countless amenities the area offers. Golfers will love the nearby courses, including Hidden Creek in Burleson, Mountain Valley Golf Course in Mountain Valley, and the Everman Golf Course in Everman.

Commercial development along nearby Interstate Highway 35W and the sprawl of urban Fort Worth resulted in dramatic population increases in Rendon during the 1990s. According to the 2000 census, the median household income was $51,065 and the median home value was $110,000. There is one elementary school in Rendon. Middle and high school students attend Mansfield Independent School District.
