The area was first settled around 1848 and most people lived near by in a community named Mountain City. Residents living in Buda refer to the town as a small homey community where you know your neighbors and the entire town has one goal--to ensure Buda remains the small town they know and love. Residents in Buda enjoy high school football, socializing on Main Street and the quirky and fun Weiner Dog races held in April. Main Street is the city's heart and soul and the old town charm and feel is evident everywhere. You'll find antiques and shopping in many of the town's original buildings. Main Street is the perfect representation of the town of Buda.
