Located about 57 miles northwest of the Twin Cities and 29 miles south of St. Cloud, the city of Annandale is situated among several lakes including Clearwater Lake, Pleasant Lake, Cedar Lake, Lake John and Lake Sylvia, making the community a picturesque place to call "home." The community has been a resort town for much of its recent history, but with the continued sprawl of both St. Cloud and the Twin Cities, is waking up to its potential as more of a mixed-use area, attracting new business and developing additional permanent residences.

The community is in close proximity to several post-secondary educational institutions including Wright Technical Center, St. Cloud State University, North Hennepin Community College, and St. Cloud Technical College. The City boasts numerous health care facilities, a quality education system, and great area recreational opportunities.

Five community and regional parks include all the amenities: playgrounds, swimming beaches, picnic areas, paths for running and biking, fishing, ball fields. A number of options await the golfer: Whispering Pines Golf Club, an 18-hole, Joel Goldstrand-designed course and Southbrook Golf Course, an 18-hole Championship course with restaurant and bar.
