Forest Lake is fast becoming one of the Twin Cities' most affluent suburbs. The city got its modern-day beginnings as an "up north" destination for city dwellers, but as the Twin Cities continued to sprawl, the cabins were pushed further and further north, leaving fewer three-season cabins on the shores of Forest Lake, and more fully functioning, even luxurious homes and permanent residents.
