Originally founded as a resort destination by affluent New Englanders in the late 1880s, Winter Park is today known for its majestic trees, beautiful parks, brick-lined streets, stunning homes, a private liberal arts college, educational museums, sparkling lakes, and amazing shops. Winter Park is located just 15 minutes from the excitement of Orlando with its well-known amusement parks including Disney, Sea World, Wet n’ Wild, and Universal Studios. Rollins College, founded in 1885, is Florida’s oldest college offering a challenging liberal arts curriculum leading to an undergraduate degree in the College of Arts and Sciences. Herzing College was established in 1995 and offers both Associates and Bachelor’s Degrees. Valencia Community College offers AAS/AS degree and certificate programs. Winter Park is part of Orange County Public Schools and boasts six elementary schools, two middle schools, one ninth grade center, and one high school.
