Sensational Saint Cloud, Florida is a small town offering beautiful surroundings while being located just minutes from the excitement of Orlando. Saint Cloud is often grouped together with its close neighbor, Kissimmee, but Saint Cloud has much to offer on its own. Saint Cloud is sited approximately 35 minutes from downtown Orlando, about 30 minutes from Orlando International Airport, and just over one hour to the serene shores of Cocoa Beach. Public transportation is offered in this part of Osceola County by the Lynx Bus that also has routes in neighboring Orange and Seminole Counties.

Located on the southern shore of East Lake Tohopekaliga, Saint Cloud has two and one half miles of exquisite lakefront and a wonderful parks program. Being located close to the water means many chances to fish and boat for Saint Cloud residents. Saint Cloud’s pretty parks give residents lots of opportunities to enjoy the Central Florida sunshine with such amenities as tennis courts, playgrounds, picnic pavilions, soccer fields, ball fields, basketball courts, and much more. Saint Cloud also has a nature park and trail to view “native Florida.” Adventure enthusiasts can enjoy an extreme sports park that features a skate park and a trick bike park. Many sporting organizations use the parks and recreation facilities for sporting events such as Little League, cheerleading, swim team, horseshoe club, and more. Saint Cloud’s Senior’s Center offers great happenings for senior adults such as ballroom dancing, line dancing, shuffleboard, free tax services, and much more.

The first residents of Saint Cloud arrived in 1909 after 1,000 lots were sold in this settlement. This ideal location was such a draw that in only a year around 2,000 people called Saint Cloud home. As of 2006 the estimated population of Saint Cloud was just under 25,000 people. That same year the city of Saint Cloud became the first city in the nation to offer free wireless internet service to all of its city residents. This high-tech service is called “CyberSpot.”

Many new opportunities lie ahead for Saint Cloud including the new University of Central Florida’s Medical School, a new Veteran’s Hospital, and Nemours Children’s Hospital will be sited within 20 minutes of Saint Cloud, creating even more job opportunities for this already thriving community.

Part of the Osceola Public School System, Saint Cloud has numerous public schools, a charter school, and a performing arts school. The University of Central Florida in Orlando is located approximately 45 minutes from gorgeous Saint Cloud.

Saint Cloud’s small town atmosphere, easy access to the Florida Turnpike, the only swimming beach in Osceola County, and a 120-slip marina are just a few of the reasons why home buyers are drawn to this Central Florida paradise. Saint Cloud offers a range of housing options including historical residential areas, gated communities, large acreage, lakefront, farms, zero lot lines, townhomes, older homes, and single-family homes subdivisions.

In June 2008, the average sales price of a single family home or condo in Mount Dora, FL was $246,822. While this data is collected from the MLS and deemed reliable, it is not guaranteed.
