Located about 30 minutes northeast of Orlando is the beautiful community of Chuluota, Florida. Pronounced "Choo-lee-oh-tah," the name is derived from the Creek Indian word meaning "isle of pines." Chuluota was first settled soon after the Civil War and the first members of this community created cattle ranches, sawmills, orange groves, and turpentine production from the abundant supply of local pine trees. One of Chuluota's early developers, Robert A. Mills, is believed to have given this gorgeous locale its fitting name.
The modern day residents of Chuluota continue to grow their community with many local businesses and new homes throughout this once sleepy town. Chuluota is close to all of the amazing Central Florida locations including one hour from Daytona Beach and Cape Canaveral and approximately 30 minutes from Orlando International Airport. For local commuting within Seminole County there is the convenient Lynx Bus that serves a 2,500-square mile area in Seminole County and nearby Orange and Osceola Counties.
Located in Seminole County, Chuluota has many outdoor opportunities for residents and tourists alike including Lake Mills, a 50-acre park that offers camping, cookouts, fishing from boardwalks, playgrounds, pavilions, jogging trails, and boating.
