Golf enthusiasts have found a little corner of Florida paradise in a town called Champions Gate. Conveniently located approximately ten minutes south of Disney World, off of Interstate 4 at Exit 58, near the Osceola/Polk County line is the opulent community of Champions Gate.
Towering, arched, double gates welcome luxury seekers to this 1,500-acre affluent neighborhood that in 1987 saw construction begin on the world-famous David Leadbetter Golf Academy and two 18-hole championship golf courses, the National Course and the International Course, both designed by Greg Norman. These facilities were completed and opened for business in 2000.
The National Course boasts an American layout with 7,128 yards of play from the back tees. The International Course is among the top resort courses with 7,363 yards of tournament-caliber play. Champions Gate is also home to Meadowbrook Golf and Frankly Golf. The biggest names in golf have played at Champions Gate including Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, and Vijay Singh.Extravagance abounds throughout the well-manicured grounds of Champions Gate, including the four-diamond Omni Orlando Resort that attracts visitors from around the world to its 10,000-square-foot spa, meeting facilities, and more. There are many recreational opportunities for adults and kids alike in Champions Gate including jogging, hiking and biking paths, an 850-foot "lazy river" winding through the community, tennis courts, volleyball courts, basketball courts, and waterslides.
While lavish, Champions Gate also has a captivating small-town feel with Lakeland, Florida-based Publix Supermarket anchoring a variety of retail stores, drug stores, restaurants, and banks.
Champions Gate offers a variety of residences including residential homes, townhomes, condominiums, and luxury apartments. Home styles vary in this oasis including contemporary, traditional, villa, and ranch. Many homes come with fantastic amenities including pools, gated communities, community amenities, hot tubs, water views, multi-car garages, and, of course, homes that get you close to the golf courses.
While some home owners only live in this resort town part time, other residents prefer to enjoy the warm Central Florida climate and all the charm of Champions Gate year round. Champions Gate is in the wonderful Osceola School District and all of the excitement of downtown Orlando is a mere 20 minutes from this desirable Central Florida locale.
