Pembroke Park is located on the southern edge of Broward County, not so long ago, the area known as Pembroke Park was made up of nurseries, quarries and mobile home parks. Such names as Holly Hill, Hollywood Ridge Farms and the Town of Pembroke Park were prevalent. The town took its name from its location along Pembroke Road. The total area of Pembroke Park is 1.6 square miles. Of this area, six-tenth of a mile is lakes. What was once rock quarries are now beautiful lakes that enhance the aesthetic quality of Pembroke Park.
Located in southwestern Broward County, the town is bounded on the south by Dade County, on the east by Hallandale Beach, and on the west by Miramar and on the north by Hollywood. With access from I-95 and a short distance from the Florida Turnpike, the Town has attracted modern warehouses and business development for its industrial areas such as Coca Cola, Royal Caribbean and Home Depot.
The city's residents are both ethnically and economically diverse. Pembroke Park has 17 mobile home parks, four of which are devoted to recreational vehicle camping. The number of mobile homes is very nearly constant from year to year. New apartments, villas and town homes are located on the western edge of town. Four parks have been constructed in recent years on both ends of town to accommodate all residents of the surrounding areas.
Pembroke Park enjoys an active recreation department. Residents benefit from many community programs or enjoy activities and events held by the city throughout the year. There are fantastic park grounds that include a large tot-lot and a playground area and the city parks boast baseball, softball and soccer fields, and organized children's sports programs.
The community is going through revitalization and has focused on preserving and renovating buildings and establishing new businesses. Pembroke Park offers a wide variety of housing choices. Residents are able to select from townhouses, condominiums and homes to fit a budget. There are many local parks, waterways, community centers and golf courses within a short distance of most neighborhoods. The neighborhood is adjacent to international seaports and airports; Pembroke Park offers a mix of beautiful weather, proximity to world-class beaches and fabulous recreational activities. Only minutes to Aventura, fine dining, shopping and the Hollywood/Fort Lauderdale International Airport.
