Located in Miami-Dade County, the ethnically and economically diverse historical Village of Biscayne Park was established in 1933. It enjoys the official status of bird sanctuary along with its more well-known neighbor El Portal. Encouraged to live here by the sunny climate and the lush native foliage, it is common to see a variety of colorful tropical and exotic birds. Biscayne Park enjoys the best of both worlds -A small village atmosphere in the center of a large metropolis. Close to downtown and Miami Beach everything is at your fingertips. The community name derives from Indian term for "favorite path of the rising moon." At the time of the 2000 census the population was 3,269 and the median household income was $48,312.

This thriving community offers an active recreation department. Residents can take advantage of many community programs. There is a bustling recreation center and fantastic park grounds that include a large tot-lot and a playground area suited for children of elementary school age. Biscayne Park also boasts two baseball and/or softball fields, a soccer field, as well as, basketball, volleyball and racquetball courts. The center and grounds may also be rented for group gatherings such as birthday parties, dinners, meetings, and athletic events.
