Within minutes from Gladeview, is one of the best secrets in Miami, the Design District. It attracts international fashion companies, furniture galleries, and modeling agencies. On the north border of the Miami Design District lies the area known as the "Mile of Style." To the south, past the Design District is a multi-billion dollar development boom coupled with the resurrection of the Buena Vista Rail Yards, know as Midtown Miami. Wynwood lies west, catering to many art galleries, antique shops, and wholesale/retail trade stores. Biscayne Blvd is to the east with such restaurants as OLA, Soyka's, and World Resources Sushi. To the North is El Portal, and Miami Shores, also up and coming areas which have experienced recent property value increases.
The area is made up of several historic districts including Buena Vista a residential enclave with a mix of Mediterranean style homes. The Little River commercial district is an area in transition, experiencing a revival with Haitian/Caribbean flair. Lemon City/Little River houses an industrial center of growing economic importance, becoming one of the major employers in the area and one of the major manufacturing and distribution centers in the city.
Part of the city's revitalization is a parks project. The recreational component will include two soccer fields, a jogging trail/vita course, and playground and picnic areas, along with ample parking. The cultural component will include the redevelopment of the Caribbean Marketplace; a multi-purpose facility that will feature a theatre and dance facility. Additionally, the redeveloped Caribbean Marketplace will include an art gallery and community room, and will serve as the home of the area's Neighborhood Enhancement Team (NET) office. The governmental component will include the NET and both a proposed regional library and regional neighborhood center. Lastly, the project will include a child development component that will include daycare facilities, wading pool, internet, and after-school study facilities.
Located between Miami Shores and the City of Miami, Gladeview is close to everything Miami Has to offer. Gladeview is close to the finest nightlife restaurants and boutiques Miami has to offer. Coconut Grove, South Beach, Downtown Miami and The Miami International Airport are just minutes away. Gladeview also offers proximity to a host of recreational activities including: Metrozoo, Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, Parrot Jungle and Gardens, the Miami Museum of science and Planetarium and the brand New Miami Children's Museum.
