The city of North Lauderdale is located in north-central Broward County between Tamarac and Coconut Creek. It is considered a suburb of Fort Lauderdale and sits approximately 15 miles northwest of Ft. Lauderdale and 10 miles southwest of Boca Raton. The city offers numerous amenities including town parks, a senior center, and recreation center. The parks and recreation department manages seventeen parks that include tot lots, playgrounds, sports fields, camping areas and a host of other recreational activities. The recreation division supports a wide range of sports programs including softball, baseball, football, basketball, soccer and swimming. The city also holds many special events throughout the year, from their famous Haunted Hamptons Halloween celebration to the Easter Eggsstravaganza and Holiday Parade to help unite the community.
Near by is an elaborate water sports complex and ice skating arena that draw athletes from around the country. Parks, shops, malls and other amenities make family living comfortable. There is always something to do in or near North Lauderdale. There are several public and private golf courses close by including Heron Bay, Continental Golf Club at Coral Springs, Tournament Players Club at Eagle Trace just to name a few. The City run recreation department offers many programs, activities, and events for residents. There is a bustling recreation center with programs for both young and old, and a multitude of parks for outdoor recreation.
North Lauderdale's' greatest advantage over neighboring communities it the wide variety of housing choices it offers. Residents are able to select from virtually any neighborhood in the area and find a great number of townhouses, condominiums and homes to fit any budget. There are many local parks, waterways, community centers and golf courses within a short distance of most neighborhoods.
