Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, Florida, is a charming seaside village located just east of Fort Lauderdale on a barrier island where gentle tradewinds blow soft caresses and pelicans fly overhead. Known as the "Prettiest Small Town in America," Lauderdale-By-The-Sea is a fabulous destination to visit and also a great place to make your home or business. This charming village by the sea is a true gem located along Florida's famous Gold Coast. From its popular fishing pier (a rarity these days) to its thriving business community and world-class hotels, this town is in a league of its own.
Pelican Square, located by the ocean's edge, is the center of its resort community featuring pleasant sitting areas under the palms near a dramatic sculpture of pelicans in flight. Within walking distance you will find charming boutiques, quaint shops, restaurants, plus a variety of services and accommodations for every budget. Strolling through Pelican Square is a restful delight that makes the town unique. The entire town has recently undergone an extensive refurbishment project, complete with new oversized brick sidewalks and crosswalks, antique-style street lamps, lush tropical landscaping and strategically placed sitting areas from where you can take it all in while enjoying the wonderful year-round weather.
Lauderdale-By-The-Sea is a tranquil community located between the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean. It boasts of half a square mile of tropical paradise bordered by Fort Lauderdale and Pompano Beach. Home to many lucky year-round and seasonal residents, as well as numerous hotels and other businesses. Lauderdale-By-The Sea even has its very own living reef just one hundred yards offshore. You can snorkel or scuba dive right off the beach. It is one of the only spots in the Continental United States with beach access to hundreds of exciting natural and artificial reef systems. For this reason, Lauderdale-By-The-Sea was proclaimed the "diving Capitol of South Florida" by the Broward County Board of Commissioners in 1997. Tennis, golf, fishing, sunbathing and swimming are but a few of the activities that can be enjoyed year round.
If you are looking for a place to call home where you can put in a days work and still have time to: play a quick nine on a beautiful course, wet a line in waters inhabited by trophy class denizens of the deep, or just unwind with warm sand between your toes and watch the moon rise over the Gulf Stream then Lauderdale-By-The-Sea is your kind of place.
In April 2008, the average home sales price for a single family home or condo in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, FL was $674,412. While this data is collected from the MLS and deemed reliable, it is not guaranteed.
