Today, with an estimated population of 62,570, Missouri City has expanded considerably. Located mostly into Fort Bend County with a small portion in Harris County, some 17,069 households. The Fort Bend County portion of Missouri City is served by Fort Bend Independent School District, while the Harris County portion is served by Houston Independent School District.
