Strategically located off Interstate 10 east of Houston, the North Shore community has positioned itself as the gateway to Houston from all points eastward. With a population of 27,350 the Northshore community is comprised of several smaller neighborhoods including Cloverleaf, Hidden Forest, Home Owned Estates, New Forest, Pine Trails, River Grove, Riviera East, and Woodforest. The 25-mile-long the Port of Houston is a complex of diversified facilities designed for handling general cargo, containers, grain, and other dry bulk materials, project and heavy lift cargo. The North Channel Area supplies these services for the northern half of the Houston shipping Channel. Residents are served by either Galena Park or Houston Independent School Districts. Northshore's convenient access to an outstanding highway system makes Houston's sports, entertainment and arts readily available, and gives residents the advantage of urban amenities to complement the area's hometown suburban setting.
