Twice designated as an "All-America City" (1999 and 2004), Stockton is located 80 miles east of San Francisco and 40 miles south of Sacramento. With a population of over 279,513, Stockton is the 13th largest city in California and is rapidly becoming an integral part of the San Francisco Bay Area economy. Stockton is the seat of San Joaquin County, the fifth largest agricultural county in the United States.

Stockton is proud of its diverse community and features a multitude of cultural events such as the Cinco de Mayo Fiesta, Greek and Jewish food festivals, Italian Street Painting, Jazz on the Waterfront, and the nationally-recognized annual Stockton Asparagus Festival held downtown. The Weber Point Events Center features outdoor concerts, including Stockton's annual 4th of July celebration which boasts the largest, most spectacular fireworks display in the Central Valley. There are a number of malls with restaurants, shops, and grocery stores.

According to the official city brochure, Stockton is in the midst of a renaissance. In addition to encouraging industrial development, Stockton is focused on reviving the heart of its community - Downtown Stockton.
