Leominster is a city of 38,000 residents and located in northern Worcester County, just 20 miles from the City of Worcester and 50 miles west of Boston. This medium sized community has its own industry based in plastics and the importance of this manufacturing can be seen at the National Plastics Center and Museum on Lancaster Street. Recently, the city has been actively courting biotechnology companies to relocate their businesses in Leominster on some of the city's developable land. Leominster, first incorporated as a town in 1740, became a city in 1915.

Today, this community continues its successful mixture of industrial and retail activity, drawing workers and shoppers from many of the surrounding towns. The city provides a wide array of services including a full-time police department, fire department, public works, Council on Aging and a conservation commission. Leominster's school department oversees three elementary schools, three middle schools and a high school. Residents consider the schools among the highest quality services their city offers.

The city can boast a wide selection of ethnic, specialty and family restaurants as part of its busy commercial activity. Other community amenities include a public library, shopping at The Mall at Whitney Field, an athletic field at Doyle Field and various recreational activities including apple picking excursions at Sholan Farms. Many other parks throughout the community provide residents with open space and opportunities for outdoor activities.

Leominster is convenient to highways. Route 2 and Interstate 190 are directly accessible in town. Additionally, there is public transportation service. A commuter rail line to Boston stops in the center of town and a regional transit authority operates in Leominster. The city, which comprises approximately 30 square miles is bordered by Fitchburg, Lancaster, Lunenburg, Princeton, Sterling and Westminster. Despite its strong manufacturing and commercial presence, Leominster is largely residential.

In July 2007, the average home sales price for a single family home or condo in Leominster, MA was $240,688. While this data is collected from the MLS and deemed reliable, it is not guaranteed.
