Vista is located on the northern fringes of San Diego County, and is one of a few rare locations left where residents can still see the history of the last 50 years. While many of the nut, citrus and avocado trees have been removed to make way for residential and commercial developments, many still remain as tribute to the areas past and the allure of the present.

Vista is an expanding community. As San Diego gets more congested, more people are being drawn into the lifestyle that this area offers: homes that have space around them for kids to play in, undeveloped property surrounding neighborhoods and giving them a feeling of openness, and the clean sense that comes with being surrounded by so much nature.

The average daily commute time for a Vista resident is under 25 minutes. Some businesses exist in this area, but people move here to feel separated from their lives at work and in the rush of the city. Forty-five miles north of downtown San Diego, Vista is just that: separated. While it has the amenities of the city, like easily accessible grocery and convenience stores, it stops short of feeling like it's completely built up. Attractions in the area include the Moonlight Amphitheatre and The Wave water park, both open in the summer. There are also local history museums and a Japanese Cultural Center.

In September 2008, the average home sales price for a single family home or condo in Vista was $332,288. While this data is collected from the MLS and deemed reliable, it is not guaranteed.
