The Northbrook Park District maintains over 500 acres of parks, facilities and playgrounds that house more than 1300 leisure programs. Furthermore, the Northbrook Park District was cited by the Northern Illinois Realtors Association as one of the top reasons families move into the community. Other recreational facilities include volleyball, soccer, baseball and football fields, jogging and walking trails, a Velodrome cycling track, indoor and outdoor ice skating facilities, picnic areas, sledding hills, and climbing walls. In their spare time, villagers can also attend live theater productions, a winter ice skating competition, a Daddy-Daughter dance, a Northbrook-on-Ice Show, summer Park Fest concerts, and more.
