As the largest un-incorporated community in San Diego County, Spring Valley is part of a growing trend of people moving eastward, deeper into the county. With 100,000 residents and more on the way, the area has developed its infrastructure to accommodate the density, and is learning to take advantage of its neighbors to the north and west.
Bordered by La Mesa, El Cajon, Lemon Grove and Jamul, Spring Valley does not stand alone in its growth. The strength of nearby communities has allowed all of them--including Spring Valley--to absorb their populations and comfortably accommodate all. Spring Valley's resources complement those of its surrounding communities, as it improves upon existing institutions, like libraries and schools.
Spring Valley has excellent public schools that are constantly improving. Elementary and middle schools are run by the La Mesa-Spring Valley School District. Its recently released standardized test scores show that students and their schools have been improving, and that the district is consistently meeting its goals for improvement.
In October 2007, the average home sales price for a single family home or condo in Spring Valley was $316,911. While this data is collected from the MLS and deemed reliable, it is not guaranteed.
