Forest Park is located in Clayton County just nine miles south of the City of Atlanta. Its convenience to both Interstate 75 and Interstate 285 as well as its proximity to Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport make getting in and out of the city a breeze for its nearly 22,000 residents.
Residents will enjoy shopping at Southlake Mall and at the Atlanta State Farmers Market, also known as the Georgia State Farmers Market. Forest Park students will attend schools in the Clayton County Public Schools. There are five elementary schools, two junior high schools and one senior high school located within Forest Park city limits. Students will be challenged academically and participate in a wide variety of extracurricular activities. The district is one of few to have full-time music and art specialists at every school. Competitive private schools are also convenient to the area and several colleges and universities are just a short drive away. Clayton State University, a unit of the University System of Georgia, is located within Clayton County and offers bachelor and master degree programs and enrolls 6,000 students.
