Located just outside the Baltimore City limits in Baltimore County, Essex is an affordable, water view community that is currently undergoing a massive state-sponsored revitalization. Although the area was once dominated by apartment complexes, beginning in the late 1990's most of these older buildings were demolished and replaced with parks, single family home communities, and modern shopping centers.
Today, the town of Essex features a variety of housing options, from luxury condominiums, contemporary townhouses, 1950's era brick row houses, and single family homes. In addition to its close proximity to Baltimore's downtown business district, with easy access via I-695, Essex is just minutes from the growing corporate and commercial hub of White Marsh.
