Rochester, WA Description

The city of Rochester is a quiet community in Thurston County. Located south of Olympia, between Tumwater and Centralia, Rochester occupies 2.3 square miles of land. Commuting to Olympia (about 20 miles away), Tumwater, or Centralia is common for Rochester real estate owners. However, the city does offer employment opportunities in manufacturing, retail trades, construction, education, health, and social services. Although Rochester is primarily a residential community, the town has two attractions worth noting. The Lucky Eagle Casino, operated by the Chehalis Tribe, has a hotel, casino, dining, and lounge music. Headline entertainment, like boxing and stand-up comedy, is also scheduled on a regular basis. The South Sound Speedway (also referred to as the Tenino Speedway) is also located near Rochester. Racing highlights include the NASCAR NW Tour.
