Poway is an excellent place to raise a family. With one of the lowest crime rates in the county and a superb public school system, children living in Poway can grow up safe. Many of Poway's homes are still constructed on large lots, the way homes used to be, kids have plenty of room to play in their own backyard. A brand-new public library recently opened, and the Poway Center for the Performing Arts gives Poway cultural capital.
More is on its way for the area. The Old Poway Park area is being discussed as a site for future development. Ideas so far include softball fields, an arts center and affordable housing. The city also plans on adding more sidewalks and parking to the development, making it accessible to all.
Downtown is being revitalized as well. Not only are more department stores opening, drawing in shoppers from outside town, but the older areas of town are preserving their feel while being redesigned. Hotels and conference spaces are also being added. The area, in fact, is rated number 6 in California for business growth.
