The town of Paradise Valley is a prominent community in the north Phoenix metro area. It was founded by Chief Justice William Rehnquist and business man George Andrews. Today it boasts of many prominent household names such as the 44th Vice President of the United States, Dan Quayle, former US Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor, Stevie Nicks and Alice Cooper, Leslie Nielsen, Mark Grace, Randy Johnson, Jeremy Roenick, Jenna Jameson, Jeff Hornacek, and Erma Bombeck.
Paradise Valley is zoned exclusively for single family homes, the majority of which sit on one acre lots, multi-family are strictly prohibited. Special use permits have been issued to allow for the addition of high-end resorts, golf courses, stables, private schools and medical facility, but construction was help to a very high standard as not to detract from the exclusivity of the town. The Town of Paradise Valley does not assess real estate taxes to generate revenue, as it raises ample funds from sales tax, gasoline tax, permit fees, utilities and interest earned on its investments.
Paradise Valley as a median income almost three times that of the Arizona and National average of $150,000, making Paradise Valley the wealthiest in Arizona. The greater area of Paradise Valley, is an informal community that is actually a few miles away from the town of Paradise Valley that is built up around the Paradise Valley Mall. The greater Paradise Valley area is an upscale community, but does not rival the Town of Paradise Valley in any way, rather it is its upper middle class sister community. The greater Paradise Valley community is known for its excellent schools, great quality of life, nice shops, restaurants and a variety of housing choices. The Paradise Valley Unified School District draws as many families to move to the community of the greater Paradise Valley area as does the Kyrene School District to areas of Chandler, Tempe and Ahwatukee that it serves.
The greater Paradise Valley area community offers town homes, condos, single family homes, small estates and even high end apartments. Young professionals can actually find a condo or townhouse in a great development here starting in the lower $200s, which is a fair price to pay for a such a prestigious address, especially when the starting price point for the Town of Paradise Valley is a minimum of one million.
