Carefree is "
Home of Cowboys and Caviar, Where the Old West Meets the New" so goes the motto of this upscale western community just north of Scottsdale. It is small community nestled in the rolling foothills of the Sonoran Desert of approximately 4,000 people who enjoy a per capita income significantly above the norm.
Carefree residents are some of Arizona's most appreciative and mindful of their environment, choosing to build and landscape by accentuating the natural desert environment rather than trying to reshape it. Take a drive down Tranquil Trail, Easy Street or Ho-and-Hum Road and you will find beautiful Santa Fe style homes with some of the most beautifully desert-scaped yards in Arizona. The stately Saguaro is often the center piece of choice, surrounded by succulents with brightly colored blooms and other smaller varieties of cacti, accented by thoughtfully placed landscaping lights to ensure its beauty is equally as visible after sunset.
