Named for the many spring-fed lakes that make up the area, Altamonte Springs is a thriving community of more than 40,000 residents located in Seminole County. This northern Orlando suburb has been a tourist favorite since the late 1800s when Altamonte Springs was a winter resort town for the wealthy and those seeking the healing qualities of the local springs.

While the theme parks of Orlando are located approximately 20 minutes from this vibrant town, kids can enjoy numerous activities even closer to home such as go-kart rides, airboat rides, rock climbing, miniature golf, and a zoological park with hundreds of animals.
Altamonte Springs boasts 10 percent more college graduates per capita than the Florida average. Altamonte Springs is home to Webster University and to a branch of Seminole Community College; is within 15 minutes to Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College; and is less than 30 minutes from the University of Central Florida. Part of Seminole County Public Schools, the city of Altamonte Springs' public schools include nine public elementary schools serving kindergarten through fifth grades, three public middle schools serving sixth through eighth grades, and two public high schools for ninth through twelfth graders.
Ideally situated at the cross-roads of Interstate 4 and State Road 436, Altamonte Springs is approximately 35 minutes from Orlando International Airport. The city also offers commuters an alternative to driving their own car to work; the Lynx Bus System serves five counties including Osceola, Orange, Seminole, Lake, and Volusia.
