Nestled in northwest Tarrant County, the city of River Oaks offers residents a tranquil riverside lifestyle just minutes from the big city. About 7,000 residents call River Oaks home, but more are sure to follow as ongoing development and excellent schools lure more families to the area.
In addition to the scenic Trinity River, which provides beautiful scenery whether on the water or on the walking paths that parallel the river, residents are also minutes from the great shopping, restaurants, and museums of Fort Worth, the fifth-largest city in Texas. It's also a short drive to the entertainment capitol of Arlington, home to the Texas Rangers baseball team, Six Flags Over Texas, and Hurricane Harbor, as well as numerous other attractions and amenities.
There's also the nearby Naval Air Station Fort Worth-Joint Reserve Base, as well as the Texas Motor Speedway, which attracts race fans from all over the country. Commuters appreciate River Oaks' proximity to NW Loop 820, Interstate 30 and Interstate 35W. Anglers enjoy the quick drive to the great fishing at Lake Worth, and golfers couldn't be luckier: there are at least three top-notch golf courses nearby, including the public Rockwood Golf Course, Shady Oaks Country Club and River Crest Country Club.
