Malden, a thriving residential, commercial and industrial city, just 5 miles north of Boston began its history over three and a half centuries ago as a small settlement called Mystic Side and has evolved to the modern, energetic city of today. A long series of writers and industrialists, revolutionaries and governors, actors and artists have counted themselves among Malden's residents. The city is situated in close proximity to metropolitan Bostons major arteries and interstates.
